WordPress 3.0.4 Home Page?
After upsetting some of my family members with emails, I decided to get a site and use WordPress (It was free to use). Family can view it or not. I am not looking to make a professional blog or anything.
So far, I have managed to get a list of any post’s text instead of the entire post, which I do not want, or I have most often set up two home pages… and even I managed a page not found a few times.
All I want to do is have posts on a single page that displays any videos or whatever I want in sections. Version 3.0.4.
Does anyone know where there is a tutorial or a method to do this?
I can make a page which is the only one listed in my “Pages”. I can make that page my static page but it still displays a mysterious Home page that I cannot edit (It is not listed in the pages). I have tried about ½ dozen themes.

Forget the “home” page terminology. Some themes still use it, but all it does is point you back to the main index (which by default is index.php).
In fact, forget “pages” generally unless you want static displays. You want posts, you make posts, and they show up on index.php in reverse chronological order unless specified otherwise. Depending on the theme, you may have excerpts instead of full posts; to avoid this, hunt down the appropriate template (which is probably called “Main Index Template”), and change the “the_excerpt” reference to “the_content”.

and you can look up any piece of code used anywhere except the stylesheet (which is not technically WordPress-specific, anyway).
