What is the name of the ‘fairytale’ story of the two immortal lovers in Isobelle Carmody’s book Greylands?
Greylands by Isobelle Carmody contains many references/retellings of fairytales (i.e. Rapunzel and The Snow Queen). There is this fairytale-like story of two immortal lovers. I’m not sure if they are a less famous fairytale or if Carmody simply made it up.

This official web site (link above) for Carmody has many promising-looking links, such as a ‘Characters’ link and an ‘Encyclopedia’ link, but I didn’t take the time to explore them all. I didn’t find this tale of the immortal lovers anywhere at that site in my search.
